BOM Updates
The BOM Updates transaction allows a user to mass replace or delete items on Bill of Material lists, giving the user the ability to assign substitute parts on a large scale, or delete discontinued items. A user can modify the BOMs of all items to provide a replacement item without editing each and every item. Users may also choose to remove an item from all BOMs in one action.
- This function does not replace or delete items for BOM revisions that are contained in existing production jobs.
- The security setting "Item master -- BOM mass replace delete" controls access to this transaction.
- A part cannot be replaced and deleted at the same time.
- Users can enter a Category and / or a Sub-Category and nothing else and be presented with a list of all BOMs that use parts in that Category / Sub-Category.
